J&L Catering has hundreds of handmade appetizers. All items are bite sized, from traditional, classic offerings to new, seasonal tastes we are always updating and expanding our hors d’oeuvres list to bring our clients the best cocktail dining experience. Below is a sampling of J&L Catering's appetizers:

APPETIZERS

Wonton baskets with ginger grilled scallops, papaya & pickled onion salad

Fresh Vietnamese spring roll

with mango, carrot, jicama, cucumber, basil, mint and cilantro. Featuring grilled shiitake mushroom OR smoked duck

Parmesan rosemary shortbreads topped petite caprese salad

Black olive shortbreads with Tuscan seared tuna and capers

Smokey chicken with tomato chutney and grainy mustard on a pretzel crostini

• Delicate puff pastry tarts

- with rustic eggplant, tomato and chevre topping OR pear and chevre drizzled with honey

Sushi rice balls with smoked salmon topped with wasabi cream

Focaccine - Focaccia pockets filled with, mushrooms, thyme & mozzarella

Black eyed pea cakes with saffron tomato jam & sour cream with cilantro

Truffled quail eggs garnished with shaved asparagus

• Bruschetta

- with marinated fresh mozzarella, basil and tomato OR fava bean puree garnished with shaved pecorino

• Miniature potato cups

- with lamb, rosemary and pinenuts (hot) OR tuna salad nicoise style (room temperature)

• Rice paper baskets with citrus-mango crab salad or sesame chicken salad

• Cucumber cups

- with Turkish carrot puree and minted yogurt OR seared tuna tile with red chili cream and chiffonade of mint

• Quesadilla •

- With brie, pear and mint with pear lime salsa.

- With Roasted poblano and jack cheese with crema and pico de gallo.

- With Country style with crispy  chicken, mashed potatoes and corn topped with tangy slaw.

Eggplant crisps with kalamata olive tapenade, goat cheese and lemon zest

• Plantain Chips •

- With Cardamon and coriander spiced plantain chips with shredded jerk chicken

OR smoked salmon topped with lime crème fraiche

• Empanaditas come with a variety of fillings •

- With classic beef picadillo, roasted poblano, potato and cheese, spinach pear,

caramelized onion and chihuahua cheese, chili braised pork or chicken in red mole.

Mini blue cheese popover with beef tenderloin, onion jam & horseradish cream

• Savory biscotti •

- Topped with ricotta and pistachios with peach salsa OR duck confit with sour cherry relish

Mozzarella stuffed mushroom risotto fritters sprinkled with truffle salt

Miniature pizzas

- With smoked duck, cherry and mascarpone OR BBQ chicken, grilled red onion, jack cheese and cilantro

Curry crepe bundles filled with hoisin vegetables

 • Herbed crepe bundles filled with lemon asparagus mousse

Petite cherry tomato cups with classic B.L.T. filling OR roasted garlic and  

white bean puree topped with olive, pepper and oregano relish

Belgian endive spears

- With Boursin cheese and candied walnut OR herbed chevre, red grape and toasted pistachio

Wild mushroom and chevre tarlets with truffle cream and chive garnish
