J&L has been quietly amazing clients over the years with their ability to constantly reinvent themselves and make it seem effortless. Fancy but fun-and discreet. The latter being an important element when you are catering a lot of private, behind-the-scenes dinner parties that Chicago Social is not invited to cover. Another small secret: limit the number of clients so that the much craved personal touch is really a personal touch.

I knew I had to use J&L the minute Matthew and I walked in your door for our tasting. What a friendly and professional staff you have! I honestly felt like I was in a top Chicago restaurant. Your company is so different than any one else in Chicago, really. I had already tasted with two other very nice caterers (and their food was good) but there was just no comparison. And my reception-which grew to over 300 guests was executed with such ease and perfection. Our food was just as good that night as it was at my tasting.
